We are sad to report the death of Don Nattrass on Saturday, July 16. Don (and his late wife Jackie) in their heyday contributed much to our club. They chaired our Pocono event for many years and Don did a stellar job as Chairman of our Driver Qualification Committee, organizing and setting the tone for our yearly drivers schools and dealing with driver discipline during the season. He was an active member of our Board of Directors. He also represented the VSCCA at meetings of the Vintage Motorsports Council. Most important, he was a good and loyal friend. While physically unable to get out of his house for the past few years, he was always interested to hear news of the goings-on in the VSCCA. May he rest in peace. - JS

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don Lefferts. Don was a long term member & friend of the VSCCA, who served many years on the Board of Directors and as Chair of the Car Classification committee.   He was acknowledged as one of the world's experts on the mechanical aspects of Bugattis and legendary in his ability to repair them. Don was, indeed, a most talented mechanic. His talents, however, far outranged things automotive. He was a splendid driver, achampion at trap shooting, a talented aeromodeler, and possessed of a most wide-ranging knowledge of all sorts of topics. He was a warm hearted friend and mentor to many,. Don never hesitated in sharing his talents and his enthusiasms. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Mark, Scott granddaughter Lauren and the whole Lefferts family.

Don, remembered by many as the man who kept Fred Willits' Bugatti ready to race whenever and wherever the opportunity presented itself, is shown with back to camera ministering to the Bugatti at Shannonville in 1983.

Jim Carson passed away last week. There will be a service at the St. Davids Episcopal church on this Saturday 4/30 at 11:00 AM.

Jim and his best friend Henry Wessells were pioneers in the sports car hobby we all love. They and their "car guys" group including, Otto Linton, Howard Hanna, Dick Tolland, Jose DePedroso, Evans Hunt, our own Nagle Bridwell, and others did the things we all recreate today in vintage racing.

Jim and Henry were at Le Mans in 1955 when the big crash happened, they were at Spa to see Fangio win, and of course they were participants in the earliest races at Watkins Glen, Sebring, Bryn Fan Tidden, and so many more. Jim will be missed.

Tobey Ross

Our condolences go to his family & friends. Rest in Peace, Jim.
